Sarah Mackey
Sarah Mackey is the Director of Community Engagement for National Novel Writing Month, a nonprofit that works to empower and encourage writing and vibrant creativity around the world. Along with the rest of the NaNoWriMo staff and the 800 volunteers around the world she oversees, Sarah helps people discover that their stories matter.
Sarah has been participating in NaNoWriMo since 2002, volunteering for NaNoWriMo since 2003, and working for NaNoWriMo in various capacities since 2009. She no longer has any recollection of doing anything in November except writing a novel.
When she isn't writing novels in a month, Sarah is a fanatical knitter, a cheese enthusiast, and an omnivorous reader. She lives in Edmonton, Canada with her toddler, Eleanor, her cat, Weasley, and her husband, Jamie, all of whom have red hair. Between that and the knitting, she feels a great affinity for Mrs. Weasley.
